Glass, Light, and Wonder: CHIHULY at Meijer Gardens Arrives in 2026

In 2026, one of the world’s most celebrated glass artists returns to West Michigan in spectacular fashion. Dale Chihuly will once again transform Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park into a vibrant landscape of color, light, and imagination with the highly anticipated exhibition, CHIHULY at Meijer Gardens.

Running from May 2 through November 1, 2026, the exhibition marks the third major Chihuly presentation at Meijer Gardens, following acclaimed installations in 2002 and 2010. This year’s experience promises to be even more immersive, featuring monumental outdoor sculptures, intimate indoor gallery installations, and a sweeping look at more than four decades of Chihuly’s groundbreaking work.

Visitors can expect an unforgettable blend of art and nature as Chihuly’s signature glass forms appear throughout the gardens. Towering glass spires rise among trees and flowers, while vibrant Reeds and organic forms reflect across ponds and pathways. The exhibition is designed to encourage discovery, allowing guests to wander through the grounds and encounter each installation naturally.

Inside the Sculpture Galleries, the ticketed exhibition Chihuly: Radiant Forms offers a closer look at the artist’s creative evolution. The indoor experience showcases iconic series including Macchia, Seaforms, Persians, Venetians, Ikebana, and Rotolo, alongside original drawings that reveal Chihuly’s artistic process and inspirations.

What makes this exhibition especially compelling is the setting itself. Meijer Gardens has long been known for pairing world-class sculpture with immersive botanical landscapes, and Chihuly’s work feels uniquely suited to the environment. The contrast between delicate hand-blown glass and the changing Michigan seasons creates an experience that shifts throughout the day — and throughout the year.

For many visitors, the exhibition will also feel deeply personal. Across online communities, longtime fans describe Chihuly’s work as “staggering” and unforgettable, while West Michigan residents have already expressed excitement about seeing the artist return to Grand Rapids.

The 2026 presentation goes beyond traditional gallery viewing with expanded programming that includes guided walking tours and specialty events such as outdoor yoga experiences surrounded by Chihuly installations.

Whether you are an art enthusiast, a photography lover, or simply looking for a memorable summer experience in Michigan, CHIHULY at Meijer Gardens offers something extraordinary. It is not just an art exhibition — it is a full sensory experience where color, reflection, nature, and creativity intersect.

Tickets and exhibition details are available through Meijer Gardens  and the official Chihuly Exhibition Page
