Welcome to Holland Ice Park — Downtown Holland’s Winter Magic for 2025

A long-held dream for the city has come to life with the opening of the Holland Ice Park, a stunning new facility that transforms Window on the Waterfront into a winter wonderland. With a shimmering ice pond, a 700-foot skating ribbon, and a dedicated curling sheet, the park offers a fresh—and fun—way for families, friends, and winter lovers of all ages to get on the ice.

Whether you’re tying your skates for the first time or planning a casual group outing, here’s what you should know before you go.

🕒 What to Know Before You Visit — Tickets, Timing & More

✅ Opening Date & Season

  • The first season at the Holland Ice Park began Friday, November 14, 2025, with a ribbon-cutting followed by the first public open-skate. The skating season runs through March 15, 2026, weather-permitting.

🏗 What Makes Holland Ice Park Special

❄️ A Thoughtful, Scenic Winter Space

The Ice Park isn’t just a simple rink. It boasts a large central pond and a meandering 700-foot skating ribbon looping around landscaped islands. Add to that a curling sheet, and you’ve got a truly unique winter attraction—beautifully integrated into the downtown waterfront.

👟 Skate Rentals + Accessibility

Don’t own skates? No problem. Skate rental is included in the open skate ticket. The facility also offers skate-assist supports and adaptive sleds, available on a first-come, first-served basis — helping beginners and those needing extra support enjoy the ice.

🧊 Curling for Everyone

Whether you’re trying curling for the first time or just want a fun group activity, the half-size curling sheet (with modified stones) is a great option for small groups of friends or families. A brief “how-to” overview is provided at the start of each session—no formal lessons required.

🔐 Safety & Rules (What to Expect)

  • No hockey or figure skating allowed — the rink is for recreational skating only.

  • Skaters 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult (18+).

  • Outside food and drinks aren’t allowed (except approved Social District beverages in marked cups).

  • Strollers, outside skating aids, or carrying infants on ice is prohibited; adaptive sleds and skate-assists are allowed for those who need them.

🎉 What You Can Do — And Who It’s Great For

  • Casual fun for families & friends: The 90-minute open skate is ideal for everyone — from curious first-timers to experienced skaters just looking for some gliding time.

  • Group outings & gatherings: The curling sheet is especially fun for small groups wanting a relaxed but social on-ice activity.

  • Beginner-friendly & inclusive: With rentals, skate-assists, and adaptive sleds, the park is welcoming to kids, older adults, and anyone who’s new to ice skating.

  • Part of a bigger downtown experience: Because the Ice Park sits in the heart of Downtown Holland, you can easily combine a skate with dinner, shopping, or a stroll in the nearby shops and waterfront paths.
