Local Business Feature: Robinettes
This morning was a cool 59 degrees at 6 AM. It definitely felt like Autumn. We won’t rush into things, but we certainly are looking forward to weekends spent at apple orchards sipping cider, eating donuts, and basking in the sun while bouncing around on a hay ride. These are just a few of our favorite things about Michigan.
Robinette’s is iconically Grand Rapids. Established in 1911, this GR staple has everything you could want and is open all year long. The Apple Haus has a Cider Mill that, depending on the season, offers tart cherries, peaches, apricots, apples, nectarines, and pumpkins. If you come at the right time you can even see how the cider is made.

The Robinette’s Bakery was opened in 1972 with donuts. Since then they have added pies, pastries, and breads. Thanksgiving brings a special pumpkin spice donut to the mix starting Labor Day so make sure to plan a trip for that. Pies and rolls can be ordered for special events and if there is anything in particular you need, call to place an order.
The 2017 Apple Harvest Season has already started! See below to find when your favorite variety is ready to be picked.

There are plenty of activities at Robinette’s beyond apple picking as well. A 6.5 acre corn maze opens Labor Day. There is also a 5 mile Outdoor Trail ideal for trail running on rough terrain through the orchard with a signed waiver. Robinette’s has a Mountain Bike Trail as well. A year pass is offered for $30.00 or $3.00 for a day. A helmet is required.

Hayrides start in September and are weather permitting through October. You can purchase combo tickets for multiple activities to really make a day of it at the Orchard!

Work up an appetite and then grab some lunch. Their Apple Haus Lunch Menu is available daily from 11 AM until 3 PM serving sandwiches, soup, pastries, and coffee.
Bring the entire family or spend a romantic date with that special someone at Robinette’s. It is sure to be memorable and fun way to enjoy Michigan this fall.
