Team Feature: Heidi Verbrugge
At first glance, you might not expect her to be the ball of fire and energy that she is, but Heidi Verbrugge is the real deal. She wears a million hats for us at The Blehm Group and she wears each of them well.
Her job history is diverse to say the least. Originally she aspired to work in the medical field. She was certified and sought an internship as a drug tester at a Grand Rapids industrial clinic. Workplace injuries were the most mundane of her daily interactions. Feeling more at home on the billing side of things, she ended up transitioning away from the field and into the office.
After children her occupation shifted in and around the classroom away from the medical field. Among the many roles she held over the next few years, she most enjoyed being a paraprofessional, a substitute, a librarian, and office support. It was in the final role, one of many challenges, demands, and growth, that eventually placed her in a crossroads where we as a team are indebted.
Jim & Yvette knew Heidi from the community where they witnessed her skills and attributes firsthand. She is incredibly organized, has a high attention to detail, and her people skills are beyond compare. It took some convincing, but Heidi was added to the team in early 2016. It has been smooth sailing ever since.
Heidi is as dedicated and diligent as she is dependable and team-centric. She quite truly holds us together seamlessly without breaking a sweat no matter the situation presented.
Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Heidi has always called GR home. She married her high school sweet heart and they have been married for 24 years. They have twin daughters and a son. She loves to camp with her children and husband. Her favorite food is Mexican and on the weekends you might find her at the Frederick Meijer Gardens.
